Dr. Taleb Rifai – Chairman, International Advisory Board

Dr.Taleb Rifai former Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Dr. Rifai, was UNWTO Secretary General from 2009 through 2017, has been named Chairman, IIPT International Advisory Board. He succeeds Dr. Noel Brown who becomes Chairman Emeritus and before Dr. Brown, Knut Hammarskjold, former Director General of IATA and nephew of UN Secretary General, Dag Hammarskjold.

 

 

Dr. Noel Brown – Chairman Emeritus, International Advisory Board

Dr. Noel Brown is President of Friends of the United Nations. Previously, he served as Director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), North American Regional Office. Dr. Brown is also a founding member of the Aspen Global Change Institute and the International Council for Local Environment Issues, Chairman of the Rene Dubos Center for Human Environments, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Rivers Environmental Educational Network, the Climate Institute, the Earth Communications Office, the Rainforest Alliance, Global Education Associates, Trust for the Americas. Dr. Brown holds a Ph.D. in International Law and Relations. He has been honored with the 1998 World Academy of Arts and Science for Distinguished Public Service.

 

Louis D’Amore – Founder and President

Louis D’Amore is the Founder and President of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT).  He has been instrumental in promoting the travel and tourism industry as the world’s first “Global Peace Industry” since the founding of IIPT in 1986. In 1992, following the U.N. Conference on Environment and Development (Rio Summit), he developed the world’s first Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Sustainable Tourism for the Canadian tourism industry. He also conducted the world’s first international study on Codes of Conduct and best practices in Sustainable Tourism for the United Nations. His consulting experience includes working with governments at all levels, and private sector organizations in a range of areas including: research, planning, community development, social impact assessment, public participation, cultural/heritage development, and conflict resolution.

Timothy Marshall – Chairman

Mr. Timothy Marshall is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Business Resource Center (JBRC). Mr. Marshall was President of T.H. Marshall and Associates. In this capacity, he co-established an annual Telecommunications Management Symposium at Penn State University and served as Program Development and International Corporate Marketing Consultant for a Global Conference on the Environment sponsored by the United Nations, International Chamber of Commerce, World Travel and Tourism Council and the International Institute for Peace.  Among numerous awards, the U.S. Department of Commerce recently presented Mr. Marshall with one of three national awards for “Outstanding Leadership and Advocacy.

Donald King – President, Development Committee

Donald King received a B.A. in English Literature in 1969.
After graduation Donald served as a special faculty member at the University of the Philippines.  In 1979 he founded King’s Travel Service, which he continues to operate to this day. Donald became a member of the board of directors for IIPT in 2002.

Reza Soltani Director of International Marketing and International relations coordinator.  

He is a marketing psychologist (Belgium) , and speaks fluently 6 languages. He has been working in 3 continents and visited more than hundred countries.  Reza is Specialist in destination marketing and digital tourism.

He is the Director of International Marketing for New York State Tourism.  He was previously Director of Marketing for the Caribbean Tourism Organization and, for nine years, U.S. Manager for the Barbados Board of Tourism.
