Jovan Popesku brings more than 40 years of experience in the tourism education and tourism business to his position of founder of IIPT Serbia Chapter (founded in 2021). Jovan experienced the following IIPT events (with papers): Second Global Conference, Montreal, 1994; Second Global Summit, Geneva, 2003; First European Conference, Leeuwarden, 2008; IIPT World Symposium, Johannesburg, 2014.
He earned his Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. He was professor at Singidunum University, Department for Tourism and Hospitality Management, Belgrade, as well as professor and director at College of Tourism, Belgrade.
He is the founder and president of the Centre for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Development, Belgrade, Serbia (CenORT). He was the first Director-General of the National Tourism Organization of Serbia.
