Manchester Peace Coalition’s Celebrating HIM 2019

The Manchester Peace Coalition (MPCo) and Advocate For C.H.A.N.G.E Jamaica (AFCJ), present the third staging of Celebrating HIM, a Father’s Day Edutainment event, at Brooks Park, Mandeville on Sunday June 16, 2019. The very experienced Co-MCs. Clive Warren and Jerry D will guide the proceedings as they pulsate to the mellow sounds of the Step by Step Band.

According to the Chairman of MPCo, Dr. Clifton Reid, the event is aimed at providing a wholesome day of fun, enlightenment and entertainment for our men and their families, while showcasing a wide array of services and products for them. Proceeds from Celebrating HIM 2019 will go towards two worthwhile charitable Causes: Mustard Seed Communities – Gift of Hope in Spur Tree, Mandeville, and MPCo’s At-risk Communities Projects in Manchester.

Support is being sought in the form of Sponsorship, volunteering on the event planning committees, participation in the displays and donations of various kinds for the different activities being planned for the event. These include a workshop for Dads, Men’s Health & Wellness Displays, Multi-Cultural Fashion Show, Men’s Grooming, Pastor’s Spinoff, Car Show, Adopt-a-Dad for the day, Mini- Petting Zoo and much more. There will be a special Father’s Day Competition, including: An island wide people’s choice award and a category of the people’s choice award specifically catering to the 18 communities highlighted by the MPCo/Dr Herbert Gayle’s research. A play highlighting aspect of fathering will complete the day’s offering.

The Manchester Peace Coalition (MPCo) was formed in 2013 with the Founder/President of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) Dr. Louis D’Amore, who declared Mandeville as the first IIPT Peace Town in the Caribbean with the first IIPT Peace Park at Brooks Park Mandeville with a vision of Manchester as a place of peaceful holistic living and mission to reduce domestic violence, promote better parenting, reduce school drop-out rates, support uniformed youth groups in Manchester and income-generating projects in the targeted communities

Patron for the event is Dr. Michael Coombs, a committed Christian and Family man, is a public health specialist and manager with 35 years of experience in the Public Health Sector in Jamaica, including as Chief Medical Officer 2012 – 2013.He also served as Regional Technical Director of the Southern Regional Health Authority, Ministry of Health, Board Member, National Parenting Support Commission, and Founder and Chair of the National Association for the Family, a non-profit entity established in 2014, with its primary mandate to advocate for the promotion, protection and Support of the Family, in particular responsible fathering.
