The International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) is currently commemorating the 30th Anniversary since its First Global Conference: Tourism – A Vital Force for Peace, Vancouver, Canada 1988; the Conference credited with launching the ‘Peace through Tourism Movement.’

As part of its commemoration, IIPT has launched a ‘Travel for Peace Campaign’ inviting travel agents and tour operators throughout the world to join with IIPT in promoting the belief that every traveler is potentially an “Ambassador for Peace.”

Aim of the IIPT Travel for Peace Campaign is to create awareness among all travelers that the privilege of traveling provides them with a unique opportunity to learn more about our common home – planet earth, the wonder of its natural beauty, its many diverse peoples, cultures and heritage – and in the process to foster mutual respect, understanding and appreciation with each person they encounter.

Charter Members of the campaign will be provided the copyrighted IIPT Credo of the Peaceful Traveler along with the Padre Johnson iconic “Portrait of the Global Family” to be passed on to each of their clients. Charter members will be announced in media releases and featured in IIPT’s website with their logos and brief company description.

Requested contribution for Charter Membership is US$ 390 which is payable on on our website.

We look forward to our collaboration with you in making travel and tourism, “The World’s First Global Peace Industry.”
